Maybe good idea make map editor startable from single player like in civ4 for cheat and make sometimes interesting situations sometimes.
the map editor & tile editor (in beta 4) are available from the initial menu in the game, but not withing a game that has been started.

I know, that what i want to change. I not found any solution to edit save game or played maps.
if you want to see the entire map and all units/monsters on the map put 'cheat' at the end of the command line that stares elemental and use ctrl + 'u' and you will see the ENTIRE map.
