Enjoying a relatively quiet day
It's a fairly quiet day for me and I'm trying to enjoy it. So far, I think I've been fairly successful at it. ![]()
Thankfully the heatwave broke before the weekend and the temps have been a bit more mild so the indoor temps have been fairly comfortable, making a short afternoon nap come on fairly easily. Since I had woken up early to take care of the puppy this a.m. (trying to let my daughter sleep in a bit), I was still a bit tired as the afternoon went on. Mostly catching up from the past week I guess.
I finally completed the required repairs on the toilet in my bathroom. It seems it was due for its semi-regular replacement of the fill valve, though this time I also wound up having to replace the flapper since it was old and well worn. Looking at it after the fact, I was surprised that it had been making a seal at all, since it was far from "flat" on its edges. While it took me a few minutes to figure out how to remove the old flapper, the repair kit that I had purchased included everything that was needed to swap old for new. With the new one installed the trickling water sounds are now gone. Yay. Since I hate wasting resources like that, I'm glad to get it fixed. I have the luxury of not having to pay separately for my water usage, but it's still using fresh water when it needn't and I'd rather not be one of the wasters.
I still have to pull the linens from my bed and replace the dirty ones with clean ones, but once that is done, I think the few chores I had booked are done for the day. Oh, I guess the other chore I'm still thinking about is to double check on which baseball games I've got tickets for over the coming weeks. Hopefully my son will use the ones that I can't, but I guess we'll see how it goes.
