What happened to 32 Multiplayer?!

notice that it was put down to 16 at max about a week or so ago, would have liked to play with a friend with 30 or so AI.

does this also limit the AI to 15?

It's 16 on the official servers. You can play 32 on custom servers, IIRC.

I don't even have 32 AI factions or friends to play it with, LOL.

the game its self only has 10 so it would be kinda hard to make new factions as in 20ish myself....

Sure it'd be hard to make all 20. But it'd be pretty easy to make a couple new factions and share them.

I want to play a 16 but I am realistically thinking a 3-4 player will actually get finished. No one will wait for an hour while others play. -_-

You can share factions.

You can play more than 3 person starcraft even though they only have 3 factions. :)

i just need to know if i can save a game in multiplayer and then load it back up with the same, or perhaps even different players at a later date.  if so, does it save the game to the stardock servers or everybody elses?

Then will there be 2 Lord Relias's or whatever?

I can't speak for this sadly but I know it's supposed to let you save games MP to continue them later. I just don't know how stringent it is on getting the other people back.

Your sovereign will be named you and your faction named you.

for the larger maps saving and continuing later is super important.  i have faith in you guys that even if its a bit bugged at first this will get fixed at some point.

Any chance the game have Random Faction?
End of DanAho101's quote

No, i dont see how that might be possible.

Or do you just mean a random selection of available factions?

Oh this system Stmorpheus is talking about reminds of the EU multiplayer saves. It saves all the nations as playable so you can pretty much add new players or leave out old everytime you start the game. It's an interesting system. I think it would be nice if you could do that, but not necessary. Like a lot of people, I see myself playing 3-4 human players at most, assuming multiplayer features are actually acceptable to our group at release.

Being able to easily switch at game load who is controlling an empire or kingdom is key for large games. This would allow the game to continue if your 10th person couldn't participate, you could switch them to AI control. If someone got a bad start or gets knocked out early, you could switch them to control what had been an AI.

Get DOMINIONS III then as there is a mod for it where you can have 64 ai opponents. It is ruthless and awesome fun.

If this game's mp is going to be true "wait for your turn" tbs... I fail to see how anybody will put up with 16 or 32 player games(honestly you have to have a special kind of patience to put up with waiting for turns at all).

How is mp really going to work?  I've seen little info.

I am afraid there hasn't been much info going out on this. The lack of multiplayer information is the primary reason why my small little group hasn't committed to this game. They're peer pressuring me to get Civ V instead.

I'm guessing / hoping for some form of simultaneous turns / battles.
