[Beta 4] Fail to get past splash screen (once again)

Hi there.

Like all of the previous betas (except 2a) my elemental never gets past the splash screen.
The game just seems to stall and when I finally choose to press ctr+alt+del and dump the process of elemental I am returned to my desktop window but I am not able to terminate the elemental process (so far it has run, not responding, for 10 min). Therefore I am currently not able to provide a debug.err but I will do that as soon as I somehow terminate the process.

 

I am starting to grow desperate here, please help!!

If I had to wager a guess, I'd say it's something to do with your sound. But it's hard to say. It could be a compatibility issue with Danish Windows and some library. We'll need to investigate further.

ObjectDock - Access shortcuts and frequently used applications from an animated dock.

If you move the files out of C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\Documents\My Games\Elemental and C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic does that get you up and running (store those files somewhere in case we need data from you, but make sure the locations are clear).  Once you do this, run the game again.

This is happening to me too, Uk here,

 

the Betas been more or less fine for me (apart from memory leaks and manditory in game crashes, and greyed out turn button) but those issues had been dealt with (the FPS was quite slow tho, but this new update crashes at the first screen.

 

im sure you guys are hard at work on it :grin:

I had this problem. Don't know what you've tried so far but getting rid of the Sig.bin from

C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic

then using Impulse to Re-activate the game got it running for me.

Whether that was just dumb luck or not, I couldn't tell you, might be worth trying though if you haven't already.

I just wanted to say that this actually worked out anyway. I moved the wrong files the first time (stupid me). Thanks a lot!!!
