[Suggestion] Phasing out lower level spawns

What was once scary and powerfull will one day be someons pet.

I really do believe if you are going to have an notoriety level that increases as the current one dose you really need to consider slowly wiping out all the old low level spawns.

If we have a notoriety level of 10, I shouldnt be seeing any left over lvl 1 good huts or creatures.

I feel that any spawns that are of the level Current spawn level - 3 should be dropped evolved into a high level, or dropped off all together. After all its no fun, nor chalanging to be at end game and keep runing into all these low levels.

seriously? you can't just ignore the lower level spawns?

 

Im all for scaling up, and perhaps having weaker stuff more rare ... but im not a fan of getting rid of it entirely.

 

I will agree that after a certain point, weaker monsters are a minor annoyance ... but you can just walk past em in search for bigger monsters (whom should become more and more common as your adventurer level increases)

While I would tend to agree that the amount of lower level spawns need to diminish as the game progresses, you also have to keep in mind that even mid to late game you'll be making or recruiting heroes that will start at level 1. How will you build them up with no lower level creatures or units for them to fight? You can always throw them in with more powerful units, but then you have to pray they stay alive long enough to even gain experience.

So, tone down low level spawns? Yes.

Wipe them out Completely? No.

In .92 I have seen a lot of Lowers getting eaten by the newer generation spawned with Adventure Tech so given time it will probably sort itself out.

As for the new recruits, I would assume you would have some new gear for them and as such they can become tougher easier than the first crews you meet/recruit early game.

Though having some fodder around to Level with would certainly make things a bit easier.

As to losing the new recruits, just arrange your stack so they are first or second in line as it seems the game eats stacks in the order their Icons are listed, death coming first to those on the right side... :)

Or you could just have *always tactical battles* selected during the time your weak newbs are leveling :p

but yea, I still think there should always be at least a "little" mook to level on.

yeah i don't agree.  i want the game world to be more alive, more believable.  i think that getting rid of all the wolves just because they are weak is a bad idea.  monsters got to eat after all!  besides what are the lower level wandering heroes gonna level off of?

This got me thinking ... a "living ecology mod" could be incredibly awesome, even if it defied certain laws of Biology and Physics
