Anyone Concerned about the release date?

Is there anyone besides me that would prefer they spend more time on Elemental and release it in February? To me it seem too soon to release already. Or am I just being paranoid?

I think that this release date and the state the game is at is cause for worry, its not ready to be released in a month, every thing is too bland and not unique. The Empires and Kingdoms basically play the same and what not, the spells are boring And over all this game needs a big change. And big changes take time, more time than another three to four weeks can provide.

I also posted this thread elsewhere but none of the developers have chimed in so maybe I had best place it here as well.

If it were up to me I'd release it in February too but Brad has stated many times that:

1) The game WILL be ready

2) If one is so concerned about the state of the game at release they can simply wait until February to buy it

if the game had 2 more months soo much could be added :(

It's not for us to decide release dates.  We're beta testers, and that's where our responsibilities (and our input) ends.  Telling the devs what to do with their product when we aren't privy to what they have is probably not the wisest of choices.  The devs are professionals, they understand the community, the market, and their competition better than any of us do.  I doubt they'd go through the long days and nights that they have to now to release an inferior product that won't sell well.  That makes little business sense.  It may not be what any given person may think is the best choice, but it is safe to think that it will have a broad enough appeal, both in feature, art, and design, that it will be a product that most people will like and buy.

So, go ahead and worry, if that's your thing, about release dates and such.  A better use of your time might be to do the one thing the devs have actually asked for, which is to make gameplay suggestions and help them squash bugs.

The probability of Frogboy closing this thread like all the previous ones is higher than 99.99%. Only an apocalypse can prevent the given release date.

If you look at how fast they have been developing the game I think you may be a little less concerned. In just three days between two patches they made the game go from unplayable to enjoyable for me, and they still have a month before the digital release.

I am however slightly concerned with the RTM version being vastly inferior to the digital version because of the extra time they get to spend on the digital version. This only concerns me because I fear that some reviewers may review the RTM version. Stardock has said that most reviewers review the digital (day 0) release, but I still worry.

Also, remember that Stardock will continue to support this game with major patches (even adding new features) and expansion packs; so I believe the game will likely be mostly the same in February whether they release it this year or next.

I have confidence in Brad and his crew. The game has a lot more going for it already than Sins or GalCiv had at launch, assuming they will tie everything together nicely and balance it over the coming weeks of working over time.

You'd be amazed at what a developer like Stardock can accomplish during the crunch period. I've been in so many betas, and Stardock has by far pushed out the quickest changes and bug fixes I've seen even at this stage. I get worried when a company doesn't make sweeping changes to game play, or bugs, but Stardock is the super-star of getting builds out.

Release date in late Aug doesn't scare me.  RTM / gold-date in early Aug does.

The game starts out fine for me, then become unplayable after I get a few cities.  The RTM version really needs to be better, especially if, as Froggie has stated, reviewers traditionally that version.
