[3C] played through

[3C] played through

Giving Beta 3C another run though, and to my amazement (and joy) I was able to play through a large chunk without any CTD issues, all of the CTD that I ran into are already posted as bugs and most of them I was able to recover thru a saved game.

A couple things I noticed, that I did not see a thread on:

The ability to have a unit placed in guard mode, or stay put mode. When commanding many units on the map, and using the auto end turn feature. It would be cool to place some units in some form of mode where they don't keep showing up asking for orders. I know they have movement points left.. I want them to remain where I placed them.

Formations, or pre-battle setup. some way to organize my troops for a strategic advantage. Place tanks up front, archers or mages in the back.. ect.  I think I read that the battle map size will be increased, but it would still be cool to have troops already where you want them for the start of a battle. Some games get around having a pre-saved formation by allowing players to place their troops on the starting side of the map in order.

Summons, I see them as being a large part of the game. Will there be an ability for higher level spell casters to summon multiple units?  IE: Summon a company of Angry Bears...  or a platoon of imps?

Evil, for being in an apocalyptic setting, there does not seem to be enough evil in the game, or options for the player to be evil. Some times we gamers get tired of playing the good guys and would rather enslave humanity, turn my population into zombies and do all kinds of evil stuff.

People require food, water, places to sleep, they whine and cry when hurt, get afraid when outnumbered.

Zombies eat the brains of your enemies, drink blood, they know no fear and never sleep... they might be standing behind your right now!!

There my 2 cents so far.

Agreed on formations.  Really need to be able to set formations and should be able to set formations of armies outside combat so don't have to do every battle.

Also I see point on evil factions not feeling evil.  Also evil just seems generally disadvantaged.  Think wood mills may be missing for evil.

Not sure if is by design but if you make a custom leader of one race and pick a faction/empire of a different race your leader will not be able to wear any armor you buy in your cities.  This also seems to prevent some NPCs you hire from being able to wear armor purchased in your cities if you pick certain factions/empires.

I think there is a fortify option, but it requires warfare tech.  Maybe move that to game start, and make the tech allow for the other bonuses?
