[bug 3c] 'equipment does not fit character' 'can't build mills'

Two issues-

One is when playing fallen, I cannot equip my human champions (and kraxis human soverign' with armor.  I get a message saying 'this does not fit unit'.

I had the same issue with a Kingdom 'Soldier's cloak' not working on muveratha (that resarching champion).

Second:

when playing as fallen, there are 3 techs that have in their description 'can now build timber mills'.  However, I am unable to build anything on an old growth forest, so my materials production remains wayyyy to low.

on the second, I have found that if you click directly upon a resource in your city of influance you can build without the need for the tech. So that is another bug but a work around as well.

This was changed from 3B to 3C.  Any resource in your borders can be built upon if you can afford it, by clicking on the resource itself and selecting the build option.  The techs that previously unlocked certain types of building have yet to be realigned so that they are useful without enabling improvements any more. ^_^

Best regards,
Steven.

yes this is how it works also if its right next to town you get the  build option from town menu.. otherwise you have to click the resource.

Thanks for the help.

However, I was USING that method (ie i was clicking on the resource, and it would NOT give me the build option).  This only happened using the empires, and it  was only with timber mills.

Dang, I thought the 'being able to build stuff w/o researching the tech' thing was just enabled for the Beta so we can get to the late game quicker.  Personally, I don't like being able to build mines & such withouth researching mining first...

And we really need to be able to build lumber yards (or whatever they're called, mills?) in regular forests.  Maybe let old growth forests grant more resources, but right now regular forests are useless.  At least I haven't been able to build anything on them in this current build.

Sounds like a good idea. I mean if my people can cut down trees to extract usable wood - why can't I do it to a "regular" forest as opposed to one of the "special" forests? Less efficient, yes (get less, consume more - maybe you'd need 8 tiles of space instead of 4 and get like 0.25 wood (1 wood per 4 turns) and/or cost more time and gildar to get running), but it should yield something, I would think?

The equipment not fitting seems to pretty much ruin my custom champions.  Think maybe it depends on race ?  Time for more testing.  Anyway, big issue for me.

Lord cobol,

it does.  Humans cant seem to wear fallen armor (i like the way it looks better too :(   )

and for some reason i cant always get female characters to wear cloaks

Wonder if this is related to the issue I recently saw - I was unable to equip boots to my sovereign which I'd bought in her main town.  I just figured it was something I didn't understand (UI is definitely not great at explaining things) and moved on - like maybe boots were meant only for specific types of troops or something.
