FYI - Out of memory work around

All - I don't want to keep anybody from posting out of memory crashes, but a temporary work-around in case you'd like to finish a game is to run in windowed mode, and periodically minimize and then restore the Elemental window. This forces a garbage collection at the OS level and reclaims memory.

The other day I go this message when the game hit 3gb of usage.  My computer has 8 so I think the issue is more complicated that simply reclaiming memory.  I hope it is not the same type of issue from  SINS, but I certainly will try your suggestion.  Thanks.

  its a 32 bit game at this stage so it cannot use more then 2 GB of ram another way is to watch its memory usage and save the game before it hits the 2 gb mark. game will be 64 bit after release so if you have a 64 bit then no problems ever again.

32 bit or 64 bit, it doesn't matter. The game should not EVER run out of memory. They will (have to) fix it before release...

The problem could also be textures, Sins has this problem from day one, and it still is a problem, and thus one of the modders started a optimization mod.  To reduce the texture sizes and so on, In Elemental, I get lag in late game, but I never had a problem in regards to out of memory (on Win7 64bit).

However, I would have thought that Stardock should release a 64bit (beta) version of the game before retail.
