Playing a new game, I finally found some armour. Only the game tells me it doesn't fit my sovereign (female, Tarth). Why not? This is the first I've seen that message.
I need to head out. I just saved the game, can provide screenshot and/or save later if needed.
Same issue, I was the race "Krax".

This happened to me today with a female champion my sovereign had married. She bought a travelers cloak (the 45g one) from the shop but was told it didn't fit.
I tried giving the armlets to each of my champions--none of them could wear the item either. I sold them in the town shop for 10G--guess they were hobbit armlets.
I found a few swords during this game, and all of them equipped fine.
Seems that the different races wear different stuff. I couldn't put boots on my Thrathian Sovereign (the Kingdom that gets Egalitarian, I think it's called Thrath).
When looking at the appearance during Sovereign creation, some of those choices are gone too. Must be the way they are trying to get the races to have a different appearance/culture.
were you using a shield? I think you cant use bracrs with a shield.
