ah, its with equipment or Armor. I know Kingdoms can make shields, not sure about Empires.

I know Empires CANNOT build Archery Yards, so its impossible for Empires to train ranged units currently (thus making them much weaker :p)

especially that one Fallen faction that supposedly can build Yithril bows ... which are Ironically MUCH WEAKER than Shortbows.

Also, in Tactical combat ... If you ONLY have archer units and you ATTACKED then the two armies should start out MUCH FARTHER apart ... like 10-20 tiles apart.

Well I have armour and equipment researched and my current game is a kingdom, but no shields.

You get shields once you go down further in the armor tree (light plate and heavy plate I think it was), however, shields are currently occupying the same slot as bracers, so you can only have one or the other - not both.

Yea ... that seemed a bit odd. Acceptable ( I guess ) but kinda odd.

I mean, bracers CAN BE USED as Shields ... but I wouldn't think the functionality to be mutually exclusive.

(for the parry function, that is)

Does that mean bracers are considered one-handed, thus excluding the use of them and say claymore or battle axe? You can wear...grr...what was it called....master work? light plate armour which includes chest, legs, feet, and arms...anyway, you can use a claymore with masterwork armour so something doesn't seem right if bracers count as shields.

Oh no no, no worries - like I said: 'currently'.

I remember reading a official post that stated this behavior will be fixed, and you can use both. Now, since I don't have a link handy, don't hold me to it - but I'm pretty sure that I'm correct.

Well, TBP ... currently you can Wield a Shield With a Claymore!

This is because All weapons are currently 1H (in practice)

Bracers and Shield both count as "arm" equipment.

Mainhand vs Offhand is purely cosmetic atm, since you can only equip one weapon, and your weapon slot is completely different than the arms slot (which includes shields) ....

if you have a Bow and Shield, they show on the same hand.
