[Bug/Graphics] Character portraits all white

Adv. Lighting issue

When I turned on the Adv. Lighting button in the Video tab of the options menu all of the character models in portraits were all white, as if lighting went crazy and decided to shade everything white. Sometimes the lining of the character's clothes, as in the colour, would appear but that's it.

This affected the Soverign creation screen, character portraits and the entire game map zoomed in, not in cloth mode. No matter how low I turned the slider down I still had the problem. It was only until I unchecked the box that the problem was solved.

My specs are:

Intel Centrino duel core 2.00 GHz

Nvidia 7950GTX GO GPU with the latest driver support

4 gigs of RAM

XP Professional OS

I'm having the same exact problem; it whites out portraits, maps, etc..  Problem fixes when advanced lighting is unchecked.  My specs are:

Intel core duo 2 6300 @ 1.86ghz

2gb ram

windows 7 ultimate 32-bit

Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT, latest drivers as of today

If I'm not mistaken, the advanced lighting problem exists for everyone.

It does not. So if you're experiencing this we need your debug.err file with the detailed system info.

Sorry for the delayed response to this, Kryo.  I forgot about this thread.  Anyway I went to enable advanced lighting to see if it was still an issue before supplying the debug & dxdiag files, and it said that my video card doesn't support the required textures, so it stays disabled.

Guess that's why I was getting the white-outs.  Maybe that option should be disabled by default.

Edit:  I'm using 2 GeForce 7900 GTO cards.  Figured I should mention that, just in case  they do support the textures and it is a bug after all... *crosses fingers*

Woohoo!  New build and no more whiteout!  Guess my cards support it after all.  Good times....  :)
