[suggestion] Water tiles need something to liven them up

Sea Monsters. That is all.

Release the Kraken

I would like to see reefs and kelp and other less violent ship eating things. Cause right now they look way too dull.

And if we have boats it's easy to replace the model with a krakenish thing if they have a model and texture for it.

sea Nessie,

or ANY of the deep ocean fish could serve as a model.

What other types of tiles could we get out there?

Oyster beds...source of additional Guildar

Fishing lanes....food resource

Water nodes...only spawn in the water in order to be claimed

Perhaps a spell such as Air Bubble for underwater Cities...

Hell underwater cities already in place to be used in quests as Dungeons

Perhaps I'm not thinking strait after all this posting, but I can't tell which part of that was a joke... if any...

Edit: I hope SD employees keep cooler head than I am while browsing forum.

Else we might be seeing underwater ponies or something...

Can we have the Loch Ness monster? A cute and cuddly wee beastie named Nessie. There could be a quest reward for finding her.

Incase the good people at SD have never met her, here's a (fairly) recent photo:

Unfortunately she's a little camera shy but hopefully you can get her to sign a contract or whatever to appear in the game :-).

That's a good idea.  Also the ideas of reefs and such would make things more interesting.

One other thing that might be nice is to have low tech ships need to stay close to the shore.  Ships did not venture into the open seas initially in real life afterall.  It would be a way to have naval technology matter more than just always getting stronger or faster ships.  It just would require a new sea tile.

I do agree sea tiles could be lived up. Heck, before agriculture fishing and local water life was the major factor for cities and towns. Not just for food, but commerce. WHERE ARE THE RIVER TILES??? (giving you a hard time, Forggie, but it is getting late in the game). Right now I feel there should be an option for how much water there is in the world. Sea faring means little and it was a rather large factor in history.

Some monsters wouldn't suck, storm fronts would for sea as well as land.

The sea has been pretty lame thus far. Hopefully it will get attention soon.

[edit] I really like the reef idea
