giving up

Well, I give up.  game still stutters and stops before I can even set a game up (even in windowed mode) and continues a whole host of issues I have spent months reporting (with error logs)with no feedback, response or any solution to from stardock.  I just will not waste my time trying and will hopefully be able to run the game when done. I seem to by the minority when everyone seems to have at least some success so I am pretty sure it is with my system or me but the frustration is just over the top for me to keep trying.

Good luck guys and go get em...I look forward to hopefully playing a great game in a couple of months.

That's where i am as well. This game, in my opinion will be a masterpiece, but in it's current state it's very hard to test. There seems to be just too many bugs right now. I thought this version would hopefully squash alot of bugs?

Okay Brad, you did warn us. I have never participated in a beta program before and it seems that i never will elect to enter another.

I going to try out 3B, hopefully it will solve most of my crash issues. Looking  forward to a great game when finished.

If you are having stuttering problems try disabling your sound card in the control panel. It seems to be a common problem right now. Hopefulling they will fix it soon.

You can't hear it but you can play it.

We've been working on performance issues related to the sound engine and the overlay this week and have had some very good progress (personally I've seen reductions of 20-50% in idle CPU usage from some of the changes).

There are too many threads for the devs to reply to them all, but showstopper issues such as you note have been and are being investigated.

That worked for me when nothing else would.

I am still having serious graphics issues, but I am sure they will be addressed.

I miss .802 when I could play the game and have graphics at every level of zoom.

Didn't help with me. This is one thing I've tried and my CPU was still at 95+ percent usage and the scrolling/graphics were still choppy.

Hopefully 3B will be the end of that.

I also can't play 3A. Here's to 3B!

Since we are discussing it..

My map scroll/zoom are very choppy and the character selecting and movement orders are a bit unresponsive, not totally unresponsive but enough to be an irritation. I can't tell if its my computer  or the build. Others don't seem to have that problem but I can play games like Civ 4 or EU3 without any problem. I think I'll just wait and see.

oddly enough I can run the thing on my work lap top (off the clock of course).  I will try 3c on my home machine later this week when I am back from a business trip.

On an aside, I have re-established my love for AOW while waiting for Elemental.
