[.806][3a][Crash] Can't start new game

Do you still get this crash if you go to Documents\My Games\Elemental\prefs.ini and set fullscreen = 0 before running the game?

By changing that setting to 0 I get a blank black screen and have to use task manager to shut down the game before I get to any opening screens.

That's interesting...I've never heard of that happening with windowed mode before.  Have you checked to see if there are any updated drivers for your video card?

Updating drivers and then uninstalling & reinstalling game worked. Thanks for the help.

Hello everybody! I know I'm probably just repeating what somebody else has posted, but I'm having crash issues at startup... It gets stuck at the splash screen forever... sometimes when I alt-tab out and back again, I get a yellow screen and a sound effect like a hiccupping pig begins looping... Sometimes I can get past it by double clicking or by pressing esc, but even when I do make it to the menu, it's unbearably slow... I've been waiting since the mid 90's for a game to give me back that Master of Magic tingle again, and I would very much like to get this working so I can beta test too! I am using Nvidia GEForce 8400 GS, have full internet connectivity, have all the latest drivers, and even did a complete system restart. my PC is empty other than impulse, elemental beta, and drivers etc... HELP!?!

Plamski83, did you try disabling your soundcard?  That's worked for some people.  We're in touch with the Miles Sound System developers trying to figure out the problem.

Thanks CariElf, I disabled sound and it's running very well now! I've had a chance to log a couple hours into this game, and I just want to say that I am not disappointed in the least! Great job guys! Just one question, I'm trying to figure out how to enable the tactical combat?

We've made a lot of performance fixes so you should be able to enable your soundcard while playing beta 3B. 

Tactical Combat was not enabled in 3A.

That worked for me as well.

I still have other issues, but this one was a complete show stopper.

Please let us know if Beta 3B resolves this problem without needing to turn off your sound card.
