If you get stuck on verifying like I did, close impulse and reopen, it will start extracting the files :).

Oh no! I updated the game but when I start it I get to the title screen and a message pops up that the game is unable to download a datafile because I'm not connected to Impulse, Firewall, etc.   I've restarted Impulse and still get the same message.  My other games in Impulse run normal.

Same thing happened to me with the update, and I could play Beta 3 fine. I've double checked firewall, anti-virus, etc. and still no luck.

Ok, just for giggles, I've unistalled Elemental and am reinstalling from scratch.  Will see if that does anything.

My Beta 3 worked fine before the update as well, GreekSeasoning.

i preordered yesterday and it hasnt worked yet :'(   it hangs at the splash screen, and if i ever get to the main menu it's suuuper slow and glitchy, not even playable. no idea what's wrong. i hoped the update would fix it but... nada

Still supppper slow on my gateway nx860xl laptop (c2d 7400, nv7900gs, 2gb, 320gb 7.5k, w7 and/or vista HD(0805 at least)).  It is strange since it worked pretty well when I first started playing.. maybe an xml change / tweak?  It seems like the nvidia 7900 cards are still an issue as well so maybe it is related.
