Need help on improving performance

Hey all, new to forums and excited about this game!  I am in Beta 3 but can not seem to run the game at anything other than a crawl on my gaming PC (to the point of unplayability - if that is a word).

I am sure I am missing something simple, but could use any advice on how to make the game run smoothly!

Well, Beta 3-A is coming soon and will feature improvements to stability and performance. You might want to wait for that as a first step, to see whether it helps any.

Also, when asking these sorts of questions in general, providing your system specs tends to be helpful.

Could you give us your system specs please? Also, I assume you've tried lowering the settings? Bear in mind this is a beta so there may of course be performance problems/glitches/etc

Yes, the first thing I do in every beta, is reset the graphic settings.  The anti aliasing kills my laptop video card at 1980x1200 at default settings, so I turn it off, and it makes a world of difference.

OK, here it goes (sorry for the format, I am a noob):

CPU INTEL|C2Q Q6600 2.4G 775 65N

CORSAIR XMS2 4GB

EVGA 512-P3-N871-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Windows XP SP3

My performance has improved since the last patch, but I still get a "white screen" when I zoom in too much and there is still some lag.  Any ideas (other than ones already suggested) would be great!

Have you turned off advanced lightging and anti-alliasing? I have to do that for it to work. Granted we shouldn't, but there you are.
