[805][Crash]Game won't load, but used to in older versions Windows 7 64 bit

I've been trying to start Elemental now for a while. I used to be able to play in older versions (I think 801 maybe up to 803) and it used to crash in game after a bit of playing, but I figured that was standard bug stuff. Now I can't even get the game to start. It changes screen after starting the application, and then gives me a crash to desktop and says Windows is trying to gather data to solve the problem.

I am currently on Windows 7 64 bit professional edition. I had this problem about a month ago with different hardware (a dual core processor, with an ATI 4890) and I have since switched to a quad core with an ATI HD 5870. Since it is the exact same problem, I can only assume that it might be something about my registry or hardware. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times, but nothing works. I have switched compatibility settings, and that didn't do anything either.

I have a mess of files to share, and I don't know if any are valuable, but here they are:

Keenelarp,

I had the same problem as you do, which was caused by an external application. Are you using ATI tray tools? If so you will need to disable it, or just exiting it might work. I did this and it runs fine now. There appears to be some form on conflict between CCC and ATI tray tools which is causing the graphics engine to error out when trying to initialize.

I did some more research and this appears to happens occasionally on other games as well. I have heard that you can remove CCC and just use Tray Tools and it has fixed other games, but did not try this myself as of yet.

You are right. I turned it off and it worked. I would have NEVER figured that out on my own. Thanks a bunch!
