Zooming Is Not Smooth

When I use the scroll wheel on my mouse to zoom in and out of the map I have consistently observed a very noticeable jump between the zoom levels on the map rather than a smooth transition between zoom levels.  Is this something that everyone is experiencing and it is just part of the roughness of the beta or does this have something to do with my video card not being up to snuff?  On Frogboy's gameplay videos it seems to zoom quite smoothly between zoom levels so I am suspecting the lack of smoothness I am experiencing has to do with my video card.  Thoughts?  Are there certain video settings I can change to create more smooth zooming?

Currently running the latest Beta (3) of Elemental on my brand new Core i5 laptop with a Nvidia NVS 3100m (512 MB RAM) discrete video.  This is a pretty middle of the road performance video chip with a business optimized driver so it isn't the greatest for gaming but it should hum along fairly well for strategy games.

UPDATE - Via a simple test and based on other threads on this forum I have determined that this isn't a graphical/video card issue.  I was able to achieve very smooth zooming with my laptop trackpad while my mouse scroll wheel causes the jumpy zooming.  Apparently myself and others are experiencing this due to some sort of incompatibility with some mouse peripherals.  This problem has been reported with both Microsoft and Logitech mouse.  Stardock, please fix!  Thanks.

Though this issue sounds similar to the issue in this thread: https://forums.elementalgame.com/384926, I do believe the issue I am reporting is a separate distinct issue.  Playing with the scroll wheel more on my mouse has revealed to me that Elemental seems to "too literally" interpret the distinct clicks of the mouse scroll wheel causing the zooming in and out to feel jumpy.  Other games such as Civ IV zoom silky smooth with my clicky scroll wheel.  There must be some algorithm that can convert the clickiness of scrolls wheel to a smooth response.  Please fix.
