Creating a Phantom [creature]

If something turns into a Phantom (a spirit form of itself) any base attack from its body is transformed into non-elemental magical attack. AKA, if it was teeth and claws.

All basic stats are the same. Any essence/ casting ability is still there.

Its undead so its immune to death and poison damage.

Its a basic ghost type creature so its 90% resistant to physical damage and 50% weak to magical damage.*

*all damage received by magical sources multiplied by 1.5, all damage received from a physical attack multiplied by 0.1.

In other words, 5 fire damage becomes 7.5 fire damage, and 2 damage from a sword or claw becomes 0.2 damage. This does not, however, effect the ATTACK scores, only the actual damage dealt to the unit's HP. The swordsman would still have 4 attack, but if he rolls a 3 and the Phantom rolls a 1, he is only going to do 0.2 damage.

Poison & Disease, would be nice additions, coming from monsters or magic.  Also adding in Cure Disease as a spell!  Would possibly be hairy fighting a zombified Skath.

"Strike me down, and you only make me more powerful..."

That could be a cool special ability.  If the unit (either a sovereign ability or a special unit) is killed, it respawns as a phantom.

EDIT:  The reason it's cool is it introduces a new strategic element.  It introduces units that opposing players should NOT kill (unless they have the appropriate spells or units to destroy a phantom).

EDIT:  This could work well with the ability to capture units.  Some units, you're better off locking in a dungeon than attempting to kill them.
