Creatures in Elemental

Hi everyone,

I recently stumbled upon this game while looking round some of the gaming sites.  I'm a big fan of x4 games and D&D so glad to hear there is a game in development based in the RPG fantasy setting.

My question is, how many creatures (animals/beasts/monsters etc) can we expect in this game?  It would be great if there was a variety like shown in Ultima online for example.

Cheers

Well as of the current beta there is not a lot in yet, and not that much time left until release so only StarDock could tell you for sure. Hopefully they have a few hundred models they haven't put in yet, but it's looking like we are going to have to wait for the modders to make the kind of variety you are looking for (there are maybe 50 (tops) creature models that I have seen whereas something expansive like UO would typically have hundreds or even thousands). That being said, what they do have in the game is moderate to good quality and fit into the game world well, and StarDock has promised to continue to release new stuff post-launch (which could potentially add to this sum)

Elemental has the biggest budget of ANY Stardock game so far.  I trust they will use it to put in the things for which the fans truly care.

Although Frogboy said that a popular joke is that Elemental's budget is less than for the Civ V cut-screens

Actually in the 3A beta there are a reasonable variety of creatures, certainly more than in previous betas, of course many are variations on a theme of course e.g. various types of spider, a variety of ogres, wolves of a couple of different types, trolls, darklings, various types of strange crab spider type things and darklings, also skith, various types of creature related to dragons, even a couple of dragons.

No undead yet that I've seen.

But I think there is already a fair variety for a stratergy game, then of course their are all the heros, adventurers and the units you can design yourself, no lack of variety.
