Looking to get Into Beta

I missed the damn Voodoo Extreme CDKEY giveaway for beta even though it's the only site I have hit for news for the last 10 years... Anyways is there any other way to get into beta without a pre-order? STEAM just sucked up all my money in the summer sale but I must admit this game looks interesting and if I can get into beta I would love to help make this game better on release.

This entire system is built for beta testing and completely up to date with the latest drivers etc. Willing to post DXDIAG information and or run system application to pull system information such as the Blizzard beta profiler. I will even sign an NDA if need be. Can't get this game off my brain right now even with a plethora of other new stuff to play and test.

If there is no way other than pre-order I will just have to wait. Curious though how long the beta will run for from this point and are more testers needed to bash away on multiplayer or anything in particular in the coming builds? If anyone sees any other CDKEY giveaway events please let me know.

Intel Core2 6600 @ 2.70 GHz
EVGA Nvidia NForce 680i @ 1200MHz
EVGA 8800 GTX @ 576MHz w/768MB 384bit DDR3 @ 900MHz
Corsair Dominator 1GB 4-4-4 12 DDR2 @ 800MHz x2
Sound Blaster Fatality 64MB
150GB Raptor
Dell 2407 WFP Display
XP Pro SP3/Nvidia 257.21

Not a high end system by todays standards but it works. If DX9.0c application crashes I know it's software related. No 3rd party software or services running on boot. Makes for a good little test bed system if anything. Can ghost a fresh install when I need it. Ghost file is also up to date as of June 25.

Couldn't pass up the deals even though I hate STEAM heh. Looks like the people in beta right now are doing just fine anyways. Maybe I'll win the VE3D contest. I know I got the answer right at least :)

Well then you don't hate Steam that much, do you? If you really hated it, you wouldn't have bought anything, deals or no deals. Nor do you want in the Elemental beta that much either, otherwise you would have pre-ordered it instead of buy whatever you got on Steam.

Haha I got much higher end system specs than you and I still had to purchase my pre-order to get into Beta :P

LOL newer and faster doesn't make it a better test bed really unless your testing out how much you can push. At least I know my rig is stable and works 100% Makes debugging a bit easier when I'm not troubleshooting hardware. It's past it's prime though. I will be upgraded in time for Diablo 3 don't you worry :)

First of all I just found out about Elemental. No email no nothing from Stardock. Second I hate STEAM with a passion as a matter of fact. It's sitting in my tray EATING 75MB of ram right now for no frakking reason. I also hate STEAM support with a passion. However when you can get say Borderlands and all the DLC for 20 bucks or an old classic game like Knights of Honor that was burried with the release of Rome Total War, how can you say no? I've wrestled my STEAM demons for a long time and to this day I still bite my lip when I have to see it running in the background. With 2GB of ram there can be no extra services or windows crap and then there is STEAM sitting there like a memory leak sucking it up.

When Elemental finally comes out I'll put Impulse to the test also. Until now I've had no reason to use it because I haven't went back and played Sins or Galciv2 since the switch from Stardock Central. As for buying Elemental well that depends on the coupons and pricing. If I say had a coupon I would be more inclined to pre-order heh. However having nothing I will just have to wait for it to release and drop in price or for a deal to come my way. That or I win the Ve3D contest and manage to get a key.

You know you can remove steam from the list of startup options right? Then just load, play a game, then exit :-).

My advice: BUY IT! This game is really starting to turn in to something and I can almost guarantee that it will be nothing short of fantastic upon its release. Take Master of Magic, give it a serious face lift, add customizable factions and heroes and a proven developer and you only scratch the surface of Elemental. Plus, your money will help fuel the development costs and can only make this game better.
