Perfprmance

Since I have expereienced repeated blue-screen crashes on my desktop, I am trying to run Elemental on my laptop.  The laptop's capabilities are less, but here' the specs:

HP Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook

Windows 7 Home Premium [64-bit]

Intel Celeron CPU 900   2.2 GHz

2 GB RAM

This seems to be sufficient as best as I can tell, and I have fewer crashes--and, so far, no blue-screen crashes.  However, the game runs excruciatingly slowly on this machine.  Every action--loading, moving a unit, choosing a building for a city, changing to a different screen, etc.--is accompanied by an extendede delay before the action is finally executed.  It takes most of the fun out of playing.

I realize that this is a beta, so I expect problems.  I'm just reporting this so that you're aware--and, also, just in caase anyone has any suggestions.

It appears that things have gone from bad to worse--even though nothing has changed, neither with Elemental nor with the configuration of my laptop.  However, since I posted the above, the game has refused to run at all on the laptop.  The start screen appears. and I get to the main menu, but I can't load a save.  I have, as recommended in anther thread, waited several minutes before pressing "Load," but, while this worked on my desktop, it fails to work on  the laptop.  Since running the game on my desktop leads quickly to blue-screen crashes, I'm basically stuck.

Looking forward to the next update, which I sincerely hope will allow me to return to playing.

Kind of surprised i can run Company of Heroes or Dawn of War 2 maxed just fine, but this game slows down here and there. All things that are suspected during beta. But hopefully get fixed
