Call me what you want to call me, stupid or paranoïd, but I downloaded Dropbox yesterday and stopped short of using it when I read the Terms of Service and found sentences like:
- YOU CONSENT TO ALLOW DROPBOX TO ACCESS YOUR COMPUTER...
- You acknowledge that if you wish to protect your transmission of data and/or files to Dropbox, it is your responsibility to use a secure encrypted connection to communicate with and/or utilize the Site, Files and Services.
- Your access to and use of the Site, Content, Files and Services and is at your own risk. Dropbox will have no responsibility for any harm to your computer system, loss or corruption of data, or other harm that results from your access to or use of the Site, Content, Files or Services.
- YOU SPECIFICALLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT DROPBOX IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE DEFAMATORY, OFFENSIVE OR ILLEGAL CONDUCT OF OTHER USERS OR THIRD PARTIES AND THAT THE RISK OF INJURY FROM THE FOREGOING RESTS ENTIRELY WITH YOU.
HELL, NO!
I won't neither allow nor acknowledge anything! For me, all those disclaimers seem just to say "Allow us to bypass your firewall but we won't do any efforts to prevent someone to take opportunity of this situation!"
In these times of hackers, virus, trojans, industrial spying, identity thefts and such, I prefer to limit the access to my computer when I can. Better paranoïd than sorry!
A shame that Pastebin doesn't work anymore, it was just click/paste. No risk at all. Isn't there something similar that we can use? Should I just post my debugg.err in my threads? Can't we just upload or email the notepad file?
