[BETA3][BUG/General] Can't save games

Was all right in Windows XP (I dual boot). I think it might be related to my "My documents" special folder being redirected to different drive, which for some reason makes the real folder behind the link to have read-only attribute (I am administrator and owner of the said folder and all its files).

This read-only attribute in Windows crippled family of operating systems may be safely ignored. It looks like 90% of games just ignore it and save anyway and everyone is happy. Those games which respect (or try to respect) the attribute either crash on me or, as Elemental did, just do not save and that's it.

It is a minor issue and it does not worry me a single bit, but it still would be nice to not have it in the final release.

Cheers

Are you using a hard link to do that, and which OS are you using that has the problem, since you say XP is fine? I'm not sure if it's still the case, but TweakUI used to allow you to remap system folders (including My Docs) without needing to resort to hard links.

So do your prefs not get saved either?

More clarification: is it working properly in XP, but not in the other dual-boot OS? What's the other OS?

On Windows 7, one can right-click on windows special folder and change its path. So I did that, pointing My Documents to the similarly named folder on different drive (say, X:). Now all folders within that folder (on drive X:) have read-only attribute set on them (but I changed ownership to me and I am admin so it is not ownership problem).

Dunno about prefs, will look. What happens - I save the game, then quit, then start the game again (is there faster way to load savegames BTW :D?) and the list of saved games is empty when I try to load game.

My remark for XP was related to previous build.

This problem is still valid for the latest public beta.

Sorry guys, I know I am slow and not very cooperative, but I am casual player, so have only brief moments of curiosity to spare.

Cheers and please keep up the good work
