[805/beta3][Bug/Graphics] Sovereign Images blank at 1920x1200 res

It may very well have to do with my older NVIDIA video drivers, but when I click on the different Sovereigns the boxes are blank or in some case they have a mis colored cape silhouet.

Pastebin would not accept your default error log?  I needed to cut it into two..

After creating the 2nd entry it appears to dislike something in this chunk of txt..

DebugMessage:  LoadCoreXMLData finished
DebugMessage:  Create setup screens.
Debug Message:  Started Load Game XML Thread
DebugMessage:  LoadGameXMLData
DebugMessage:  No string tables in C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Elemental\Data\English\*.tips

When I started the actual game the entire main screen (accept for menu) was white.   I saved, changed res and restarted the game and it refused to restart 800mb ram (task manager).

Then I opened to EXE manually, instead of through impulse, and it allowed me to start loading but never started after 15 minutes.

DebugMessage:  Set mouse.
DebugMessage:  Set update timer.
DebugMessage:  Popup Manager Update: Unhiding FullScreenBink
DebugMessage:  Popup Manager Update: Unhiding LoadWnd
Debug Message:  LOAD GAME: Loading Quick Data
Debug Message:  Finished Load Game XML Thread
<last log entry>

Even though this notebook overheats and shuts down with any new non-supported NVIDIA drivers I am going to give it a shot and see if things work "fine".

The nVidia 7800 series and 7900 series are giving us fits. Thankfully, reports like yours have got us to focus on them. It's a very common card that is well within the specs for the game.

Thanks!

Thank you for the update Frogboy.   Are you finding that the newer drivers are fixing the problem (before I try it) or should I just jump onto my desktop with the ati 4790?

Have a 7950 with latest drivers, character cards and map where borked when I first got in ( map was pure white and character cards where indecipherable ), turned off advanced lighting and anti-aliasing and am good now.

If you haven't, try disabling anti-aliasing and advanced lighting.

I wanted to mention, in case it was not reported already, that making those settings does allow the user to play, but the environment is severely artifacted.   You see lines across the word, polygons and random shapes (grey), etc.

Thank you again for a great game - looks like it is really coming along!
