Cultures in Fantasy Based Games

Well I debated putting this in the Mods category, because the main reason i'm asking is for ideas for E:EE. That being said, it's a good general conversation so in the end I decided to stick it here.

Anyway, what are your favorite cultures from various fantasy based worlds.

Elemental already has the classic "Midevil Human" culture included (with all the Kingdoms). What other human cultures would you like to see in the game?

Personally my fav. fantasy cultures are of course the Undead (I prefer the Age of Wonders type to the Warcraft one), than I always liked D&Ds Dueger (Dark Dwarves), and of course theres the classic Roman Cultured Demons....

As for Human cultures it would be awesome to see a Viking like culture, and maybe a Mongol like one too....

I would like to see Vikings and Saracens as they would be the most distinct ones culturally and geographically, compared to the medieval european humans.

Undead are a really cool faction too. I hope the "Wraiths" amongst the Fallen will actually be undead.

My favourite undead group of all time is the Legion of D'tesh from the Rise from Erebus mod for Civ4. It's an entire civ founded on the basis of a single city. The city's population is increased by using slavery and turning the slaves into more legions of undead. Absolutely amazing to play. The Scions of Patria are similarly interesting, being undead in haunted woods and an extremely interesting faction based around a religion serving the Emperor and immortality.

If we're talking about just pure lore, probably Magnagora from Lusternia (a mud) because they're basically a combination of industrialisation and demonic worship. Oh, and about 75% of the population (in terms of players) are undead.

In terms of human cultures, I think we're missing a nature orientated culture, a nomadic / wasteland enjoying culture of some sort, barbarian raiders and some sort of Asianic culture. Out of those, I only think two and three could be considered "necessary" as a way of rounding out playstyles, though. Those are what I've enjoyed in other games, at the least, and what I see lacking in this one..

Favourite fantasy cultures: Dwarves in Warhammer and Dwarf Fortress, goblins / orcs in Warhammer, Dwarf Fortress and Lord of the Rings, EVERYTHING from the Exalted P&P.

Can't think of any more, really.

Ermor from Dominions: Rome learning necromantic arts from lizard men. Which led to everyone dying and the empire becoming an empire of undead after a period during which thaumaturgs reanimated longdead.

Melniboné by M. Moorcock: Corrupt elf-like beings, worshipping chaos gods and using men as slaves they dominate through their magic and control of the elements and demons.

Actually, anything from Dominions. Dominions is epic.

Technomagical cultures are usually fun though not strictly fantasy.  The best version of this is Baker's Eberron where technological systems are powered by magic (elemental trains, eternal light streetlights, etc.)

Another good one would be a psychic race, perhaps even one where the psychic powers stem from alien intelligences taking over people (mindflayer seeds, Riedrans, etc.)
