Is beta closed?

Hi,

I was thinking of pre-ordering this game and playing the beta this weekend, but when i went to the pre-order page there is this message posted

"As of Friday June 18 2010, beta entry is closed.
Beta will open again at the start of beta 3."

so does this mean even if I pre-order the game i wont be able to download the beta?

As it says, beta is closed to new preorders until Beta 3 starts (date unknown, don't ask, but it's not this week and neiher next, and most probably not the next to the next week :P). You can preorder now and whenever beta 3 starts, they charge you and (if they successfully charge you) then you can download the beta (need to have enabled the option to see betas in your Impulse client...).

Actually, I think I saw Brad post that beta 3 may be next week.

With that all the technology trees get enabled, the Imperial factions get enabled, the minor factions get enabled, tactical battles will get enabled (beta 3A), and tons of other stuff get enabled.
