Asking dev : translations ?

Will the fans be able to ?

Hi everyone !

I follow the development of Elemental since the beginning with the dev's journal.

I think, so far, the dev' arent planning any translation of the game ? So I got an idea, because dev' said that the game will be fully modable, I wonder if that's true for translation too ?

Will the text of the game be like 1 folder "english" with XML files, so that we can copy it, rename and translate by ourself ? I think it could greatly help the game get a larger audience, which I think he deserve.

So the question is, to the dev', will it be possible ?

Sorry for english error, I'm a french speaker.

Thanks for reading,

ps :

The game look awesome, I will buy it when the beta will be over !

Welcome to the forums Druduss.

I don't know the answer to your question, other than I vaguely remember them indicating they weren't looking to do any translations. (I think it was in a thread.) But as far as the modding part, with that being a translatable option. I'm genuinely curious myself.

You'll be able to do that if you like, though as it'd basically be a mod I'm not sure how it'd play out against data integrity checks for rated multiplayer.

is it possible to make superficial mods not affect multiplayer checks? custom UI/skins/language packs... or would a change to the language affect the game... say changing a description from "...speaks in english [+1]" to "...speaks in french [+3]" affecting both description and bonus?

I'm just wondering about other conflicts and if it's a problem of checksums or the language files being integrated with normal files rather than referenced for descriptive texts

It would be great if there would be the possibility to create only language packs for the game without interfearing other content of the game :-) I'm fine with english but I know several colleagues who are not getting into the game if the language is only in english :-/ Sad but true, they are younger gamer and used to get all their games in german :-)
