[Beta 2A][Bug?] Lumber Yards permanently remove forest

If I build a lumber yard and then cancel construction, the forest disappears... Is this intended behavior? I could understand that I might be harvesting all the trees, but it seems like it should take time.

Also, once I destroy it I can build harbors there... but apparently that's a known bug.
