[Suggestion] Make companies stronger

I could be wrong but as my understanding of the unit stats goes, individual elite soldiers get more HP than entire companies and have an equal ability to win in a group of the same economic cost. I only ever build companies now to avoid the interface for units where you have to click on every individual unit. It seems that for 1000 gildars and 350 hammers I should get a powerhouse of health and attack.

Is this just a machination of the limited build we are using?

Will this make more sense when we have magic and other things that make a company more powerful?

Am I reading the stats wrong?

It's tough to tell right now.

I took a company of peasants (6 combat rating iirc? just the cookie cutter starter unit) and sent them against a sand golem and they won, with 4 of them dying so henceforth they had "16" in their picture instead of the 20. So that part is working in a sense, but other times I get really weak results from using companies against baddies. Not sure what all is working in the combat system since it is just auto-resolved.

I use companies for weak troops / archers. (Damage absorption for weak troops and ease of use for archers. Seriously, my archer companies do twenty damage per shot against those Slag monsters, and I have a "ranger" group which can move six times per turn. I can do 120 damage in a single turn.) Heavier troops I either make whatever that 4 unit group is called or individuals.
