Hero recruiting?

I don't get how AI gets so many heroes. Like, at the very start of the game (maybe turn 25 or so) it has a stack with 3 heroes - 15 HP 10 attack (combat rating 45), 26 HP 6 attack 7 defence (combat rating 25), 21 Hp 0 attack 5 defence. For comparision, i can hire a hero with 20 HP 8 Attack 19 defence for 19 defence (combat rating 34) for 1352 gold, and that's with one charisma book.

It will take a loooong time until i'll be able to make even 1350 gold. Should i always pick sovereign with high charisma? So far in two games AI just rushed me with a stack of 7 heroes, with no less than two heroes with attack 6+ not counting sovereign. Armed peasants aren't strong enough to counter it, even if i research some combat techs. So it seems critical to be able to hire strong heroes in the first 50 turns, but i don't get how to do it.

The arinou stack is always expensive becuase he comes kitted out with so much armour. Basically you pay for experience and items as far as I can work out, which is why they increase in price as they roam about.

Some champions are just better value than others.

3rd time, hero with attack 6 defence 26 or something like that. How i'm supposed to win against that monster? I bet it costs 1500+ gold to hire, and i have only 26 gold/turn income

And AI had at least 8 more heroes roaming around. Does it hire heroes for free?

Part of it also depends upon who starts around you. I know I've started out with four or five heroes around me, and was able to hire 3 of them. That particular game I had eight or nine heroes running around. Gold doesn't seem to be too much of an issue for me--as I was wandering around, my supplies and gold would stack up relatively quick. On the other hand, some games I would have just one hero (other than my sovereign) and that would be it. So, part of it is random, and another part is saving for recruiting heroes when they wander in to your territory. The highest I've seen so far was 350 gildar or so to hire.

Well, it's just impossible to hire that. It costs several thousand gold, and AI hires all available heroes before i have money to hire even one group. What's the point to make AI get heroes for free and then attack with unbeatable stack? What exactly is being tested here?

At the moment, not adventuring?

Champions definitely need a loyalty stat, though, and you can buy them off the computer players from that.

I am not 100% sure but I have seen the prices of hiring increase in seemingly direct relation to my SoV level gains. I had one Hero in my area and noted the cost to hire. I hired another, then fought and leveled and found the other one again. Cost was up 5X from our first meeting. The only change I had made or seen was my Level.

I will test again but current Hiring costs quickly get ridiculously high, ridiculously fast.

No, it seems it requires an inn, and i can't find a tech to make an inn. Alternatively, Stardock means that a Pub is actually an Inn, but in that case i don't see any way to start a quest anyway.

Multiplayer map, it's a fixed map so each game is about the same.

On which turn do you have so many heroes?
