[Suggestion/Gameplay] Polygamy / Familial Relations

MORE WIVES! I WANT MORE WIVES!

So, anyone fancy having polygamy as an option for characters? I'm a bloody immortal wizard capable of reviving the land and making everything nice. I don't think anyone would argue with me having more than one wife.

Also, leave in the ability to marry your family together. Maybe give an "Inbred" trait if it's necessary, but I'd still like to be able to do it. It's a funny quirk.

Oh, and is it currently possible to marry your kids off to other sovereigns / get theirs in the same way?

It's in the patch notes they just removed Ale from the game because of the ERSB. I doubt they will have anything like this as I think they are aiming for a Teen rating.

...Wow. That's just silly. I was going to make an argument that Fable had plenty of alcohol, sex and violence in it, but it turned out THAT was rated M in America too.

The whole ale thing is very abstract, too, how can that count, really?

( It turns out that Empire : Total War, that game where you gun down Native Americans whilst you take over their land in a surge of Imperialism, was rated teen. Americans have funny standards. I'm fairly certain you can do SOMETHING involving alcohol in that game, too. )

Didn't you know alcohol and nudity, thats all devils work (or the Europeans) and that is evil, but killing savages for our god given land is not.... yeah that is depressing.

Yea the ESRB is a complete joke. It's pretty much a bunch of self appointed up tight individual who rate things based on their own subjective opinions rather then some objective scale. If your interest check out the wiki and see how ratings are done section.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entertainment_Software_Rating_Board

Basically 3 people watch game footage then decided on rating.

Also the ESRB has done some crazy stuff in the past. Morrowind was rated Teen and the developer was aiming for a Teen rating again with the sequal Oblivion and it got the Teen rating right uptill the ESRB found out that someone was able to make a Nude mod for it just like with Morrowind. So they changed the rating to Mature even though the content in question was not part of the release game and not on the disc like the "Hot Coffee" thing in GTA.

So basically ESRB gave a rating based on content that could be added to the game. Well if they are gonna do that they might as well give all games a Mature or Adult rating cause they can all be modded to have "inapprorate" content. And it's not anything recent either as Nude Raider mod is among the most well known and that was well over a decade ago.

Its a forced censorship, even if they state that they don't force the ratings the "free" (ahhaha) market forces them to... since you cannot put your game on any shell without the joke ESRB.

The rating you get can also screw with your sales... its a crap system in place.

Divorcing and/or executing your wife also needs to be in the game.  Once she is past her childbirthin years time to step aside for the new (18 year old) generation!  Wooo!!!!

yeah thats pretty lame... on Ale, why not just call them 'beverages'... I do like a few bevvies.. ;)

Once the game is out, you should be able to add some of these things if you want, since this game is suppose to be very mod-able, so who cares if they changed it from ale, just mod it back once the game is released (or in beta 4, which is when at least most of the tools are suppose to be released).

At the very least, remarrying instead of staying a widower forever is needed.

As for ESRB, it's stupid. You can slaughter people but not drink alcohol... Silly.

"Recreational beverages" does have a nice ring to it.

I don't know about polygamy, but I'd like to be able to re-marry if my wife dies.

there's a bug which means your dead wife can still get pregnant

Someone around here was asking if there were undead in the game.  I told him not yet, but I didn't know about this bug.

start working on the mod that makes all this possible.
End of weez2mo's quote

It's actually possible at the moment. If you marry one of your children off to another sovereign's, you can marry their kids back to your family. In fact, if you get a male deserter from their dynasty, and they have a female child, you can marry brother to sister.
