[Suggestion][Balance] Well Equipped Soldiers Have Little Impact

I have noticed that Soldiers have such little health that it doesn't make sense to give them any armor to protect them. A group of standard plate is about as useful as a group of leather plate as far as survivability goes. Maybe if we give them more health, defense will be more useful. This would probably mean giving all units more health initially and have technology boost health more significantly.

Food for thought ;)

Yeah, I totally agree!  I believe that these stats need to be tweaked.  If I am shelling out lots of money and materials for the heavily armored units, they really should be able to last significantly longer than the lowly unarmored units.

Agreed.

At least so far as the autoresolve is concerned. Unsure if the tactical battles would change this up any.

But presently at least; it is certainly better to have a bigger army as opposed to a better one.

Well, when we get strong enough armor it matters, and when you're not fighting a sovereign it matters. The reason why is how the combat system works:

In order to deal damage, the attack roll has to beat the defense roll. A unit with enough defense can actually be flat out immune to attacks from weaker units. Right now we aren't really scaling up enough to get to that point, and the units we have do minimal damage to the really strong stuff on the map. But as we get more tech and more training (and enchanted weapons), you'll see elite units that are more of a force.

That said, I do think the veteran and elite training options need to add more HP then they do.

Fundamentally, normal units will never be super effective against really big things. But trained and geared units will do better against peasant hordes.
