[BETA 2][Bug/Gameplay]Heroes killed without any notice

I've noticed several times that sometimes heroes just "vanish" without a trace, with no clue what happened to them.  This frequently happened when I tried putting heroes on autoexplore, but it happens other times, too.

What seems to happen is that a hero gets too close to a monster and is attacked and killed by it during turn processing.   Fair enough, but if a hero is attacked I'd really like to be shown where the hero was and see the battle take place.  At a bare minimum, heroes must not vanish - the player needs to be told the hero was killed.  This is why I list this as "bug" instead of "suggestion".

I've noticed this as well, and it seems that the battle dialog doesn't trigger reliably when a battle commences. Sometimes I can even attack without it coming up.

I've experienced this as well. A specific example was I sent one exploring (manually) and I found an inn a good distance from my cities, and there was a skath leader standing next to the inn. Now I wanted to see if the inn was still active (I guess NPCs can get quests from inns in which case the inn becomes useless?) and I didn't care too much about that character. So I moved them onto the inn (didn't get a quest) moved the screen back to my cities to do some stuff, then ended the turn. That character simply disappeared without any message of any kind.

It is possible (and likely) the specific character had 0 defense, and I've seen some weird things when attacking enemies with 0 def, so that may be the cause.
