Random questions on playing...

Just started messing with the Beta! A few questions...

1. Is there another way to scroll the screen besides moving the mouse to the edge?  I'm finding that I keep wanting to scroll by using the cursor keys, and I end up moving the sov.  Click-drag works, so maybe I just need to get used to that, I've never really used that method before; the cursors are like second-nature to me.

2.  How do you talk to the npc's, instead of just attacking them? All I get is the crossed-swords icon.  I could've had a merchant and a researcher-dude, but got some levels instead.

3.  How do you get your sovereign out of a city, once you move him into one?  I moved him onto my city and visited a store, didn't even know I had one, and I couldn't figure out how to get him out.

1. mouse to move the screen is how i've been doing it, but i would prefer cursor keys as well or WASD map movement.

2. left click on npcs, then look in the lower left for a button to interact with them. mousing over that button will usually tell you their hire price if they are adjacent to one of your units, or in your territory.

3. click on the city, then look down on the right for the little circle representing your sovereign. left click him, then right click outside the city somewhere.

Thanks man, didn't notice that action section down on the bottom left.  Things just got a lot easier.

1) Since supcom I use zoom out-zoom in to move the map. Sometimes I click-drag. No need for cursors I think.

2) Like Wizz2mo said. Even if the icon is a sword, don't be afraid to left click, you'll have the option to hire the npc. The npc needs to be in your territory or next to your sovereign

3) Like Wizz2mo said. If you click on the little shield next to the medallions you'll have a list of all your units in the town. When you have an army, you can also click the little shield to get a list.

To move the screen without scrolling to the edge of the screen just hold down both the left and right mouse buttons and move the mouse. Its much easier and quicker. Enjoy :)

Just holding down the left MB and dragging works for me.

End of vieuxchat's quote

I'll have to try that...  And yeah the left-click drag is growing on me, it's easy once it becomes second-nature :)

I still prefer using the keyboard to move the map.  Control-wise, I guess you could say I play strategy sames the same way I do FPS' on the PC.
