Save location problem

Hi, I play sins on various machines at home (bedroom, living room, den), and use roaming user profiles and custom user folders to store my files on a central server so they're always available. This works well with most games, but I have a problem with sins though, as it seems to store it's saves in the user's local_settings folder, which doesn't get copied between machines by design. Fine for a internet cache, not so fine for games saves (which, when you think about it, are user documents in all but name, much as games are applications for editing them).

This seems like quite an oversight in choosing this location; saves should almost certainly be stored in the "My Documents" directory (or equivalent), or a subdirectory thereof. I'm not too concerned about the settings being stored locally, as each machine has a different spec, so would need different settings anyway, but all the other things are really annoying, especially as I can't find a way to move the folder.

So the question is, am I missing a way to relocate these files?

Not that I know of.

You could try sharing the save folder in the network, then create shortcuts to each shared save folder in the other save folders. Then drag and drop should be easy.

I agree its a bad place for the mods or maps or saves. In a hidden file, doh!

Just because a game is made to run on windows does not mean they need that compliance. Thats the developer.

true but to ensure support from Microsoft (something IronClad being a small developer probably needs) they had to follow that rule
