[0.802][Beta2][Gameplay] Escort Quest failed = Game Over

Really?

While doing an escort quest with my sovereign (there is an awful lot of those.), my band (sovereign and the nobleman) got attacked and killed, after the party was wiped out the quest failed and I lost the game (not sure if that is intentional or not).

It seems like this shouldn't occur since its such a common quest.

Yeah, I got a rather rude awakening in one of my first games, because it SEEMED that Sov Death had absolutely no penalty at ALL, which I was about to complain about after I got out of the game.. then.. DEFEAT due to Sovereign death.

I assume that Sov dying consumes one of their essence in order to make good their escape? No essence, no escape?

That has been my experience. It also seems that if your Sov dies without a city you lose.

Are you sure you didn't lose the game because your sovereign died?

I never build more than one or two cities, but I do die a bit... it seemed to happen right after I failed the quest though... :-/

still the way it worked out it seemed like I died not because I ran out of essence, but because I failed the quest.
