Can't run the game at all? Post here with system specs (round up)

It seems like there's a lot of us who are getting hit with Crash-To-Desktops here and can't play the game, or even get into the Options menu. Since the debug.err files aren't being generated it looks like Elemental might be short on information for Why. Even if you don't crash all the time, please post anyway, a couple samples from computers that are working "fine," can also help us narrow down system specs.

So let's get our system specs together. Fill out the following sheet and write in your specs.

Operating System Windows XP Home SP3 32 bit
Graphics Card 4670 ATI
Graphics Driver 6.14.0010.7060 (find this under the Display section of dxdiag*)
AMD or Intel AMD athlon 64 X2
What version of IE do you have? ie6
Does the game launch to the main menu? No
Do you crash when hitting "new game" button? Yes
Do you crash when hitting "options" button? Yes
All of the time, some of the time, or randomly? All of the time
Have you tried reinstalling the game? Yes
Have you updated your graphics drivers? Yes

 

*Hit start, click run, type in dxdiag and that'll launch dxdiag where you can find your graphics driver version.

 

Last time we did this, we isolated the CTD bug back in 0295 to be a audio driver bug affecting Windows XP, so let's give a roll and see if we can narrow it down.

I can play the game sometimes, but most often it just start up and stay on the velcome screen without reaching the intro/main menu.

It seems to help if I delete all saved games (is this how it is supposed to work?)

When I get into the game (so far 3 of 10 times) I got no problem whatsoever.

i7 q720 1.60GHz

4Gb 1666MHz ram

64 bit operating system

Ati Radeon 4670
