Cosmetic Weapons

I know that, at the current stage in the beta, not all weapons are integrated.  That's not what this is about.

I have this idea for further customizing troops.  Rather than giving us an iron longsword, give us some cosmetic variations.  No stat differences, just something for us to keep troops differentiated from one another for the sake of customization.

For example, said iron longsword.  Give us a scimitar, rapier, big murderin' cleaver, and longsword.

For iron battleaxe, give us some dwarven blocky axe looking thing, danish bearded axe, and beaten up berserkin' murder-pole.

Same thing could be done for armor.  Instead of one leather hat, you can give us the hat, an arming cap, and a big foofy dandy hat with giant feathers.  Just because we're low tier doesn't mean we have to look it.

It would also add a layer of strategy to what troops you took along with you.  While you and your own opponents may be able to figure out what exactly all your own respective troops at a glance, it would take a few engagements to figure out exactly what kind of carnage your opponent is packing.

(On a side note, I would love everything forever if I could get some kind of fur armor.  Right now my bearsarks are just kinda angry-lookin shirtless guys with claymores...)

completely agree...there is not enough variance to distinct races / units / cities from another that are on the same level... i would prefer anyway if they kept "traditional" fantasy races and made them more distinct this way...currently everything is kind of the same (maybe thats just in the beta)... its kind of contradictory if you want people to be able to customize there sovereign and their troops and make everything customizable etc. but then on the other hand limit the customizing options in such a way that in the end there is no "real" customization (real customization for me means rather fluff then effect...)

I was wondering that as well, will it be possible to mod in the variations of existing weapons and armour in the future, also will there be possible to add completely new types of weapons and animations for them,

Yes, no doubt there will be extensive modding done to the game, but I for one am completely ignorant when it comes to modding items.  It'd just be a nice little touch out of the box, even if it was just there to hold us over until modders go nuts on it.

I'd like to see this.

Maybe you click on plate helmet then a list of different styles and color choices expands.

imo that would be minimum for a game that claims to offer customization and that has a rather low graphical performance (considering nowadays standards)...they could also offer that as a dlc at least (for free of course)
