[.802][Bug/Graphics] Kingdom button causing graphical anomalies

I've turned off advanced lighting due to other problems, but now when I go to the Kingdom tab (one with design unit, research, etc) and go back to the main map I get this:

Turning advanced lighting back on while this problem is "active" sometimes makes it worse, and other times seems to fix it.

couldn't find your screen shot, but ive gotten a strange pixelated image over laid on the screen. it happens after being on the research screen.

I have the same screen issue when the Kingdom tab is active, although the pattern on my screen has a big square patch just right of the center and towards the top of the screen that renders normally.  Almost like an overlay is being drawn and then doesn't die when the Kingdom info is closed.

 

Edit:  In my case, I believe that it may have been due to me having disabled Advanced Lightning.  After enabling it again and dialing the softness down to "0", I am no longer running into the issue.

 

Considering that it may be due to Advanced Lighting, it may be due to having a newish NVIDIA card (260GTX).
