There are several people who moderate the submissions.  At times things might slip through, but we are well aware of some who are trying to game the system.  :)

Lol, that's a bug) Let's hope there will be not too many people that will use it ^^'

Make sure to purge the undeserved points.

Doh, that's aweful. I've noticed people shooting up 200+ points quickly...almost makes me fear that's what happened.  Maybe an audit and removal would be warranted.   Otherwise, while fun, this event will be hard to compete honestly with. :(  I know I've gained all my points from real/warrented events.

I accidentally submitted a couple things twice (really, I swear, they were accidents!). Sometimes you lose track of which Diggs you've already submitted and which you haven't. I had the points removed for the repeat though, don't worry.

I accidentally hit 'enter' while commenting and the quest was submitted before I was done explaining what it was.

And as long as I'm here, what is convincing someone to pre-order worth?  Or buying the game for a friend as a gift?

pre ordering will get you into the beta in the next wave.  Buying the game for a friend will get your friend a copy of Elemental :D  no prizes or anything.  I'm working on more mod tools to make it less likely for repeat posts to be accepted.  Also we can always go back and change scores if we notice something being reported more than once.

Solution of blank activation e-mail

if your friend can not register

1 sign up

2 if activation e-mail is blank that

2.1 login in http://elementalgame.com/army page

2.2  you'll be directed to re-activate page

2.3 done

ps

sorry for bad english

I haven't noticed anything like that yet.  I have submitted a few older diggs and tweets and they were denied because they were too old.  So I think they are obviously paying attention.  I'm sure that some will get through.  I'm glad its looked at by people rather than just scanned by a program.

lol, if somebody goes to fast up in the ranks than that is because of those dig things.

i even don't know what they mean with dig:thumbsup:

Digg linking is going to be revamped, most likely points will only be rewarded for digging Digg stories we link to.  More info later.

On the Digg thing, I dug some old stories that others did and points for mine were rejected while the others weren't.  No big deal, just an FYI.

Digg, Twitter and forum posts are about the only way I can earn points as I have no skills to do any of the other things like video's and whatnot.

With retroactive effect? Just in case I suddenly decide to go beyond the 10 points mark.

From this point on we aren't awarding points for random Digg links.  If we post a news story about Elemental, and it is put on Digg we will link to it, and those will be awarded points.

i originally posted just one digg link, i originally thought that it was a one time point reward to digg something. then i noticed that you could look at the leaders and what they were posting. i noticed a few of them have many instances of the digg points. so i followed suit and posted a string of relevant and recent digg articles. as no points were received, im guessing that they were denied. this im actually ok with, just asking that those with many digg point rewards be retroactively adjusted so that everyone is on the same level.

additionally, ive noticed that some of the "post a video" points people have received are just some of brad's latest videos reposted on different sites with no credit or link to the source. as this is in my opinion against the spirit of the contest and just a cheap way to accrue points, can this also be looked at?

I've already preordered, I just want to win a copy for my wife and I'd like to not have to compete with people on that level.

edit: just looking at some leader fan art...it is lord of the rings 3d models.

we are looking into past entries that dont fit our new Digg requirements (to keep everyone on even footing going forward) along with online videos specifically.  We have adjusted the points you can get from online videos as well so that we don't have to just negate all those types of submissions out right but can instead adjust their values.  Our initial idea with online videos were people would make their own video not repost videos others made so we have had to adjust scoring.

Just keep us up to date on the rule changes, so we know what to digg, etc.  I'm assuming there will be an update on the Army page or on the forum about the rule changes?

I followed the current Digg requirements (about Elemental and only posted by IslandDog) and every single one was denied.

Any particular reason?

It's possible that you didn't link to the Who part of the digg page. So they couldn't verify that you had indeed dugg it as it were. And it's possible something got missed when they were going through it.

I would send Island Dog a private message, (unless that's countermanded) letting him know your dilemma. And they'll be able to see why they denied your quest. If it was for specific reasons, or human error.

Also one other thing, they're only approving recent ones. I would guess only the ones here in June. As anything else is too old.

That was most of it. I've corrected the two recent ones that were overlooked in the mass of older ones.
