Stealth

Troop concealment

Are there any plans to implement stealth in Elemental?

The term stealth meaning units who can inherently hide in any tile (rogues, assassins, thieves) or in a tile containing a certain terrain (rangers in the forest for example).

If there are no current plans, please consider adding it! Stealth would allow for strategic ambushes, different strategies and a variety of new units who depend on subterfuge instead of brute force.

Yea, stealth units in a tactical battles could be interesting if they are hidden from the enemy's view (and data collection) except for when it is next to an enemy controlled tile (tile with an enemy unit).

However, 2 tiles away from the enemy, still invisible.

It'd also be cool if individual assasins (single unit or Champion) could even BLEND IN with enemy units, being only visible when next to a tile containing an enemy Champion or enemy Sovereign, and also being able to share a tile with enemy units. Such an assassin should also be visible if it were to attack any enemy unit with a melee attack.

Of course, if spotted by an enemy Champion while sharing a tile with an enemy unit ... the assasin suffers some "attacks of opportunity" from those that share his tile.

Therefore, the role of the individual assassin would be to try and isolate enemy Champions and attack them (when they are alone).

You could probably do this with magic too, by using an "invisiblity" type spell or enchantment. :)

I'd be utterly surprised if they failed to add stealth in at least SOME capacity.

Same here Saije. I hope we aren't surprised though, I love being a sneaky bastard in other games.

I'm planning to have stealth in a mod, so hopefully it will be in the game in some form that can be modified in some way.

I've said it before, in other threads way back, but I do hope that it's possible to have stealthed units. I'd love to have an army that would be based on, at least in part, stealth.
