Long sports day...
Baseball earlier. Not the results that I would have hoped for there, but well enough played that I don't feel embarassed (like I was last year) by how the team is playing. Even with my favorite team playing on the west coast and playing on west coast time, that game ended long ago... meanwhile I had been watching some of the phenom's most recent pitching performance (minor league game) and then remembered to flip over to the NASCAR race at Charlotte.
As I type this there's 113 laps to go, though sadly FOX network has flipped away to advertisements. As much as I hate the announcing team that the TNT NASCAR broadcasts use, I like their "wide open" coverage where they split the screen and run their advertisements at the same time as they continue showing the races. Doing that lets viewers (fans) keep watching the race and following the action while the ads are running.
Pre-baseball listening I took the most recent collection of give away items and miscellaneous stuff to my folks house. 3 good sized bins of stuff no longer taking up space around the house. Yay. When I got back home from taking my son out to get some dinner (and talk a little about his plans for school) I started cleaning up some more. Mostly little stuff. Emptying a box of tools and house parts and such into the bin that will be going out into my storage shed tomorrow, and cleaning up a box of drinks that has been collecting a bit of dust (Vitamin Waters and such that had been sitting for a while). I shouldn't need to shop for any of those sorts of drinks for a while. Thanks to my kids putting stuff on top of the drinks, I had lost track of the bottom of the box that I keep the bottles in while waiting to put them in fridge. Then of course I had bought a few more bottles because I thought we were out, and then the process was repeated again. Fun.
Gonna keep it short today (stop celebrating over there!!) but hopefully back with something to say tomorrow.
