i tried downloading the update 1.05 for soase but the website keeps saying that the file was not found. is there another way of obtaining the update
You do not want 1.05. You want 1.191. Which is you can only get from Impulse.

You will need to register your cdkey with Impulse but you can then get the newest patches and redownload your game as needed.

It might not be supported anymore to be honest....its a outdated patch.
It is on plenty of other sites like filefront, I'm sure you can find it somewhere. But unless you want it for a specific mod or something, I highly recommend updating to the latest version.
I agree that i want to choose my patches. Some patches wreck the game and some mods dont update.
If you get the 1.191 patch you'll also be able to log onto Ironclad Online (ICO) where you can find other people to team up with for comp stomp games as well as human opponents. About 7 months after Sins's release, Impulse was released to serve as platform for selling expansions and other games as well as a form of DRM. You can find it here: http://www.impulsedriven.com
Can u upgrade the vanilla Sins without impulse cause my game computer will never be hooked to the internet.?
well if you can get to a computer that has the internet you can download Impulse onto that and archive the game then port it over

i feel the same way about the update system tbh. why can't you simply update directly through the game.
