GalCiv II: Ultimate Download - Limited Installs?

Quick question...I heard a rumor out there that the Impulse digital download version of GalCiv II:Ultimate could only be installed a limited number of times before you have to contact Support.  Is this true at all?  I tend to reformat my computers often so this could be an issue for me.

Any clarification is much appreciated!

While some games offered on impulse do have activation limits as 'copy protection' (which is norm listed at the top left under download size ect.) I highly doubt that is true at least for GalCiv since it is an actual stardock game and well stardock is renown for not puting dumb stuff like that on their games.

The games on impulse that do have 'drm' protection of that kind are not games actually made by stardock but third party publishers/developers like Ubisoft or EA. I'm guessing that to license stardock to sell thier games they require that its under the condition whichever type of drm that third party uses for thier game has to also be used on impulse versions. Also, its almost always listed as what type of drm is used by that particular program and if its not listed as having a protection type I belive that means it has none which is how all the actual stardock games like GalCiv show up.

I think it's just a rumor. The only limit Stardock games have as far as I know is a limit of downloads per day, but it's something like a couple hundred DL's, so people don't just give out their account info online.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I love Sins of a Solar Empire for this very reason.  I got buddies that bought the game after playing LAN with me.  Thank God for Stardock's reasonable "DRM" (or lack therof) policies.  Looks like I'm going to go ahead and purchase GalCiv II since it's 75% off.  Wow.  Been waiting for this sale for ages!

Much obliged fellas!

Stardock titles do have activation limits but they are typically only triggered under extreme circumstances. For normal use you would not be affected.
