Title: Multi-Player Takes over AI Opponent

Lurker--- 1st time poster to Elemental.  Very interested in THIS Stardock product.

One missing feature I have found in nearly all multiplayer games is the inability for a Human Player to take over an AI Player's team/position in mid-game.   In many MP games I can only find 2-3 total players who will consistently make time to play.  In an enivronment where these Players also play against the AI, such as in Age of Wonders SM, there are ocassions where one human player will lose prior to all AI opponents.  For us, cotinuing with as many human players allows us the cammaraderie we get through gaming.  As such, allowing a human player to take over an AI's position at any time would be an incredible feature that I believe would benefit the MP community.

Regards,

LeBlaque

Sounds good to me (but I don't expect to do any multi-player anyway, so....)

yeah i think this would be a good feature, and on the flip side if a human player had to leave then an ai would take over for him.  it would be even better if you could choose the AI personality as well.  i would always choose the warlike AI }:)

well I'd like autosave on the turn someone exits as well... with the ability to change AI for each slot and have human players added or removed, taking over AI if you wanted... say to turn a single player game 150 turns in where you were doing very well into an advanced start for a couple of players where you join as the AI players you were beating.

Sword of the stars did this well, it was nice opening up a save game and dragging the human icon over the race you wanted to play as... sins of a solar empire does it well by allowing you to adjust the AI on games you load...

Shameless BUMP...

I really, really, REALLY would like to see this implemented.  I am playing a MP game of Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic and it get really, really, REALLY boring watching a tactical battle that my opponent plays against 16 AI forces. zzzzzzz.

This would be just a great addition to the MP game of Elemental.

I can appreciate the goodness of this feature, even though I'd never benefit from it, not being a fan of MP TBS, but I can see it having problems with how the AI is coded, if it builds up its knowledge brain from turn one.
