Is the Limited Edition considered a Retail Edition?

(Clarification on copy-protection plans)

I was looking over Frogboy's updated beta schedule (https://forums.elementalgame.com/363845) and noticed the section on copy-protection.  According to the post, retail editions will not require any verification.  Does the Limited Edition Pre-order (Download+Limited Edition Box) qualify as a Retail Edition?  I know the "Download" part is obviously a Digital Copy, but what about the disc that will be included in the box?

Also on that note, Amazon appears to be taking pre-orders for the Limited Edition (as well as the standard edition).  Is this Limited Edition there identical to the one here?

If you install it from the box, it's a retail edition.  The main point is that you don't get the updates if you don't register (so only legit users can get the nice cool updates).  The combo they have means that you get the retail SE box on release, but you can beta test beforehand.

Yea limited edition is just retail edition + awesome goodies.  So enjoy if you bought it :-)
