EVIL quit game message.

I feel that the developers are unnecessarily evil in placing the "Are you sure you want to quit? A few more turns couldn't hurt" message when you quit the game.  The game is evil enough at consuming 100% of my free time.  Now they want 110% of it?

It's a inmersion breaker! It should have a pic of my peasants begging me not to abandom them, offering me their daughters, gold, watermelons... so I keep playing ruling them "Just one more turn"(, Sire).:moo:

Please don't go. The drones need you! They look up to you.

That was literally my first thought when I saw this topic. I'm glad to see that I'm not totally insane.

As a reminder, until beta 3, Elemental is so horrible and unfun that it will cause you to go blind.

Please make sure that you do not play the game looking for even the slightest enjoyment. No health insurance will cover the damage.

How dare you leave now? It's way past midnight anyway! Why not wait until the sunrise before you make another attempt to quit! Oh, and since you are still gonna be playing in the morning, why not call in sick tomorrow so you can keep playin'...

}:)

That would be an evil message...

:snowman:

(Ps. The message that is being used now is perfect... Reminds me of HoMM and games like that...)

I think we used a similar message in Gal Civ 2.

The only reason I have to EXIT at all is that I can hear my Video card fans spinning up to CTD speeds and need to SAVE and get the hell out before it happens.

I would most gladly play "just a few more turns" IF!  twitch twitch ;P :S o_O

Bring on 1Z4 already... LOL

I know I've heard this...but I can't place which game it is from... can you help me out?

I had the same feeling and googled this quote - it comes from Sid Meier's Alpha Cantauri. I don't remember the drones in that game, maybe they were something like Workers in Civ4?

Edit: Checked in Wikipedia, seems the Drones were the equivalent of "unhappy citizens" in Civ.

Master of Orion was the friendliest game I ever played...when you quit the game, a window would appear, saying "Thank you for playing"...was just so nice...

can we have this feature please?

Heh. I guess the EWoM Beta1 quit message should've been something like: Thanks for suffering! (c) Frogboy :w00t:

Tormy- didn't you get your "Suffering" Achievement Badge? I achieved mine after 4 attempted plays of Beta 1A. :)

Nop. I've got the following achievments: King of Pain, Spider Lord, Empty Victory, Humbling Defeat [lol I remember this one, my Sov was killed by a troll, and an AI peasant captured my one and only city. :D] & Master of the Save. Seriously, there is an achi called "Suffering"? o_O  I had lot of lock-ups and CTDs, and I still don't have it?! This is an outrage! \o/

Ok, it may not be "Suffering" but something similar. LOL (need to check tonite)

End of quote

Drones were the red-faced citizens that didn't produce anything, and were prone to riots if not managed properly.
