Just Preordered

I just preordered the Limited Edition of the game and was wondering when the Beta is open to join again, how exactly do I try to get in? Thanks! :)

You're in the same boat as I, except I pre-ordered at least a week ago now...

That's a link to the second page of a similar thread to yours where Beta Access is explained in pretty good detail.  Cheers!

You are in luck, and just in time, assuming they don't close new beta entries until the beta goes up. Beta 1Z is scheduled to go out today IIRC, so with any luck you will be getting your beta key in the next few hours. I'm not entirely sure when the cutoff date/time is though, so at worst it will be a few weeks until beta 2 is released.

Same here! Although I am posting some 8 hours after you did, I still hope to get in. I already feel like a post release beta tester for two games, Oblivion, and Hearts of Iron III.

Both run horribly, both have many overlooked problems with game play. Although Oblivion was basically given up back in 2007 by its developer, Hearts of Iron III is still being worked on and slowly improved.

Oblivion had me trying again and again to get it running on my computer since it was released over four years ago. A few months ago I gave it another try with a completely new computer, and after installing all the mods for it, it still crashes. But after much online research and weeks of trying to get it working, I seem to have found the best way of running the game with the least amount of problems. It would CTD every 20-30 minutes before, and now I can make it work for several hours without a problem. Which is ironic, because Fallout 3 uses the same engine as Oblivion, and I had very little problems making that game work. Although, I think by Fallout 3 they solved the memory recycle problem, as well as opening up more than the only allowed 1.8 gigs of ram that Oblivion used.

So even though I haven't been a beta tester before, recent experience has shown me that I could put up with the bugs, and the CTDs to make a worthy game work. If I need to send out info on any problems I encounter to Stardock then all the better. Heck, two other MMORPGs have turned me down for their betas before, so at least for once I would like to become a beta tester for a promising new game.

I preordered about 2 days after the beta opened in March and still havent been accepted so dont worry if you havent been accepted yet because i dont believe they have began processing yet. Ill keep you boys up to when i get accepted so youl know if your going to now or not sinc3e you preordered a bit late and are concerned but i believe other forum threads are saying your gonna get processed so i wouldnt sweat it. I would also just use a thread already being used for this topic next time too :)

Yeah, everyone who pre-ordered will get access sometime today...

Speaking of...  I just pulled open my E-Mail...  I now want to kill Stardock's automatic newsletter thing...  Open my inbox to see "Stardock" as one of the senders, only to find out it's for the Weekend Impulse Buys.....

SONOVA BITCH!  >.<

Don't think anyone's in the office yet anyway.

Probably not DoomBringer...  Actually, almost certainly not...  But they've more or less confirmed it's going to be today, and so seeing that in your Inbox is like getting defibrilated while conscious...  First, an electric charge (Read: Excitement, =P) and then a sudden burning sensation and a searing pain...  Yeah, it's exactly like that.  =P

It'll still have rubbish graphics and crashes galore though  not to rain on your excitement parade

It will look like the Beta Journal Walkthrough correct? If so thats ok. He did show what the landscape looked like at the end with all the grass and stuff, so i'm not sure why he couldn't play through with that look instead of the paperish map look for the countryside.

The queue is running and people who were waiting should start getting serials. The process will probably run into the late afternoon.

A lot of crashes, weird bugs and well... a beatiful vision of the future. Oh and I just preordered the game myself and despite usually getting a crash about 30 to 40 turns into the game have been playing for about 6 hours XD
